TROUBLESHOOTING FUEL GAUGES 240-33 AND 73-10
Check that there is power and ground at the gauge in the proper positions.
Remove the fuel sender wire from the sender, hang loose so that the ring terminal does not touch ground.
Turn on the key, gauge should peg low.
Touch the sender wire end to ground> The gauge should peg high. If it does not peg do the same test at the back of the gauge to rule out the wire.
Gauge pegs in eiother test> gauge good TEST SENDER FOR PROPER RANGE
