Speedometer has been calibrated but does not read speed.
This can occur for several reasons:
1. Calibration sequence was out of order/incorrect
2. Speed signal is not reaching the speedometer
3. Speed sender is faulty
1st check:
Check current pulse count in speedometer. NVU 4-3/8" speedometers ship with either 84,100 or 16,000 pulses per mile. You can Watch the video for how to check the pulse count in the speedometer.
-If the pulse count is 84,100 then the speedometer was not programmed by driving a measured mile. The video to program is HERE
-If your Pulse count is something like 626,400 then the programming was done incorrectly and the pulses must be reset to a lower number. We reccomend setting the rates for the follwoing:
GM LS/PCMs: 4,000 PPM
Integrated speed senders (GM) 700R, 4L60 40,000 PPM
Screw on speed senders 16,000
Once the pulse count is set to the prefered setting, drive the vehicle to check for operation
Does the speedometer operate?
YES-DONE
Yes but it is inaccurate
NO-CHECK SPEED SENDER
